You’ll learn, in this post, how to use Smart Tags in your OptinMonster campaigns.

Have you ever wished you could recognize your leads and customers if they visit your website… and provide them with a unique experience?

That is to say…

  • You can address your website users by their first names.
  • Create dynamic content that is unique to each visitor based on the information you have about them (name, interests, previous purchases, and so on).
  • And there’s more…

The personalization of websites is successful!

According to Jupiter Research and Annuitas Group reports, brands that use personalization see major improvements in customer loyalty, 20% more sales opportunities, and 18x more revenue.

Unfortunately, most website dynamic content tools can cost you thousands of dollars per month.

Personalize Your Website with Dynamic Text Replacement

Dynamic Text Replacement will help you personalize your website.
Using smart dynamic content in your onsite marketing campaigns is simpler and more affordable than ever before, thanks to OptinMonster’s Smart Tags feature.

You can use merge tags in your onsite marketing campaigns with a single click, just as you can in your emails for content personalization.

You can add all sorts of merge tags using our easy drag-and-drop popup builder: date or day of the week; area, state, zip code, or country. You may also include any information provided by the guest, such as their name, email address, or phone number.

Insert a Smart Tag

When creating a campaign, you can use Smart Tags to customize the text. You have the option of using our pre-defined smart tags or creating your own custom Smart Tags.

Follow these steps to add a Smart Tag:

– In the campaign builder, you can add or edit text feature

-To choose a predefined Smart Tag, select the curly braces icon.

-Select the Smart Tag you like, and it will be added to the text field editor automatically.

(Optional) Define a default value for the Smart Tag in case it is unable to locate the information it requires.

-When you’re finished, click Save Changes.

-The Smart Tag will be replaced with the dynamic meaning once the campaign is live.

Format for Smart Tags

Two opening curly braces must precede each Smart Tag, followed by two closing curly braces. This enables us to decide which material in your campaign should be replaced. The first value should be the name of a custom variable you’ve created or a predefined smart tag.

{{SMART_TAG_NAME}}

In the event that the tag information cannot be identified, you can use a pipe character (|) followed by text as a default.

{{SMART_TAG_NAME|DEFAULT_TEXT}}

Smart Tag Examples

Here is an example of a Smart Tag showing the visitor’s first name.

{{form_first_name}}

With Default Text

In this example we use the same Smart Tag but have optionally specified “Visitor” as the default text to use if the tag information cannot be found:

{{form_first_name|VISITOR}}

Dynamic Smart Content Increase Engagement for Publishers.

In order to make a profit, bloggers and media companies need visitors to linger and connect with their content, but today’s visitors’ attention spans are shorter than ever.

By showing smart interactive content to the right person at the right time, OptinMonster’s Smart Tags help you keep your audience’s attention and increase interaction.

Smart Tags allow you to customize offers for your audience based on the day, date, physical location, and content they’re watching, among other factors.

By designing customized marketing strategies optimized for each visitor you increase ROI on your website. This content personalization feature will help you lower your bounce rate and increase your engagement metrics.
